ERP Implementation: Your Journey with Primetics

Implementing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system can be a complex and time-consuming process that affects many aspects of your business. A detailed step-by-step process can mean the difference between a successful and disastrous implementation.

ERP Implementation

A Step-By-Step Process

We understand that the implementation of an ERP system must be meticulously planned, and our step-by-step process divides the process into phases with clear objectives. The process can be customised to meet your specific business requirements but provides a clear baseline path that ensures the software’s implementation is as successful as possible.

  • Business Analysis

A business analysis is the first step in the implementation process. One of our teams’ initial objectives is to gain a thorough understanding of the current challenges you face. This could include inefficiencies in processes as well as requirements for the ERP system we will implement. We accomplish this through observation and learning. Then, in order to understand the scope of the project and your end goals, we document and map your business processes.

  • Meet the Team

For the past 30 years, Primetics’ mission has been to collaborate with agribusinesses to help them feed the nation. Partnerships, we believe, cannot be formed over phone calls with overseas support teams or, worse, chat bots! We encourage face-to-face engagement between your company and our team of experts. This means we can best understand not your company’s needs and the needs of the people who work in it.

We collaborate with you to identify your business ‘champions’ and work with them to recognise any obstacles and preconceptions. Following this, we prepare our channels for communication, collaboration, and escalation.

  • Document What We Learn

Understanding your business is critical to optimising our ERP system for your needs. We document what we now know about your business and your needs by taking advantage of our opportunity to meet and collaborate with your team.

We’ll share our findings with you to ensure everyone is on the same page. Then, we continue to work with you to define our success criteria and deliverables. This allows us to track our progress/success in relation to the goals we set.

  • Let’s Get Planning

While it may be tempting to jump right into designing and implementing an ERP system, never underestimate the planning phase. This phase lays the groundwork for the entire implementation. It ensures that everything runs as smoothly as possible with as little disruption to your operations as possible.

Once we agree on our project mandate, we prepare a project plan and set milestones. We then form joint teams to deliver and assign roles and accountability. To further limit the disruption to your operations, we work to understand and document any potential risks involved. This allows us to develop strategies to mitigate these risk factors.

  • Implementation Time

Now comes the exciting part: implementation! Following our collaboration and in-depth planning phases, we begin to deploy our applications and apply configurations. We prepare and load new standing data and deliver any agreed development change and iterate against quality controls and user acceptance criteria.

  • Knowledge Build

Primetics understand that an ERP system is a significant time and cost investment for your company. So, we devote time to training and education to ensure your teams are familiar with best practises and can use your system to its full potential and do so efficiently. We will continually assess the process and compare it to the success criteria we established in our ‘Document’ phase.

  • Commission

Our teams begin testing the software to ensure its smooth operation and to minimise disruption to your operations once it goes live. Once your system is operational, we don’t say goodbye. We provide ongoing support throughout our partnership to ensure that you are always getting the most out of our software.

So, there you have it, our ERP implementation guide. However, every business is unique! We understand that each implementation journey will differ depending on the scale of the implementation and the specific needs of your business. With over 30 years of experience, our expert teams are familiar with your industry and strive to work as closely as possible with you to ensure the success of the implementation.
